Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to spread love and get creative with your little ones! This year, why not swap some of the store-bought paper and plastic for a touch of nature? These five Valentine’s Day nature crafts for kids are fun, easy, and make for beautiful decorations or heartfelt gifts.

From seeds to pressed flowers, these projects let you embrace the beauty of the outdoors while creating something truly special. Here are five Valentine’s Day nature crafts that are sure to bring smiles and a little love to your home!

1. Sun Catchers

These heart sun catchers with pressed flowers make the prettiest decor for your windows! You can use them to make your own home festive or give them away as Valentines.

For these, you’ll simply need:

1. Using the template, trace hearts onto the clear side of the contact paper.

2. Peel back the paper to reveal sticky side and tape it in place.

3. Arrange dried flowers onto the hearts you’ve traced.

4. When you’ve got the flowers arranged how you want, cover the entire piece of contact paper with another to fully enclosed all the flowers.

5. Cut out the hearts and hand them up! You can make a garland, a mobile, it simply tape them to your window!

2. Nature Hearts

These hearts are gorgeous and super simple for even younger kids. Just cut out some cardboard hearts, paint on a layer of mid lodge, and have your little crafters press on different nature bits of their choice! They’re also super versatile and can be used to make heart wands, garlands, etc. Check out the full tutorial here

3. Bird Feeders

Share some love with your feathery friends this Valentine’s Day and make these simple heart shaped bird feeders to hang outside! Then make sure to hang them within view of your window so you can enjoy watching them arrive for the feast!

4. Seed Paper

Some Valentine’s Day nature crafts can serve two purposes! These seed paper hearts are not only beautiful, but can be saved and planted in the springtime to grow a gorgeous wildflower garden! Follow the instructions for DIY floral paper here, but mix in wildflower seeds like these in place of (or in addition to) the decorative flower petals. Then, when the paper is all finished, cut out hearts and give them away to your friends!

5. Dried Flower Heart Wreath

The last of our Valentine’s Day nature crafts is a decoration that can be used over and over again! Simply cut out the shape of a heart on cardboard (I just googled free printable heart shaped templates to help me out) and glue on dried florals of your choice! You can use dried rose petals, lavender, baby’s breath, etc. I happened to have strawflowers that I grew and preserved from my own garden two summers ago!

With something heavier like strawflowers, you’ll probably want to use a hot glue gun. But with smaller dried flower petals, younger kids could definitely help! Just have them paint a thick layer of mid lodge over the cardboard, then sprinkle on the petals!

Conclusion

Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to combine creativity, love, and a little bit of nature! These five Valentine’s Day nature crafts bring a meaningful and eco-friendly touch to the holiday.
