If you’re looking for a fun and creative way to celebrate the beauty of nature with your little ones, you’re going to love these flower crafts for kids! Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or caregiver, these colorful and imaginative ideas are perfect for spring, summer, Mother’s Day, or just a rainy afternoon indoors.

We’ve rounded up 15 gorgeous flower crafts that are easy, budget-friendly, and suitable for toddlers, preschoolers, and older kids alike.

Note: A lot of these projects used pressed flowers. You can make your own from flowers in your garden or around the yard. Or, if you don’t happen to have any on hand, there are a lot of beautiful options that can be purchased. Here’s as list of basic materials to get you started with your flower crafts:

1. Pressed Flower Sun Catchers

One thing I love about flower crafts is that you can display the beauty of spring and summer even through the winter! These sun catchers will brighten up your house any time of the year. The best part is that they’re super simple! Just grab some contact paper and pressed flowers. You can also adjust these for the season. We’ve made heart shaped ones for Valentine’s Day and egg shapes for Easter.

Use a large embroidery hoop like ours or make a sun catcher mobile like this one using small mason jar lids. No matter what you choose, the results are gorgeous!

2. Twig and Flower Crown

I love this twist on traditional flower crowns with the incorporation of twigs. And the glitter and homemade nature confetti stars really finish it off. It just looks so woodsy and magical! Check out how we made this flower crown here. This crown can be worn for birthdays, photoshoots, parties, or everyday make-believe!

3. Paper Mache Lanterns

Your kids will love the fantastically messy process that is paper mache, and the result is these beautiful lanterns! Hang them in your house with LED candles or fairy lights for an enchanted look.

4. Recycled Floral Paper

A lot of our flower crafts use natural or recycled materials, and this homemade floral paper is one of them! Use old junk mail or paper you’ve shredded and make brand new beautiful paper with flower petals sprinkled in! Use the paper for special invites, letters, or make a small notebook out of it!

5. Pressed Flower Necklaces

Kids will love decorating these little wood slice flower necklaces! They can also be put on keychains to hang on backpacks.

6. Nature Weaving

This is one of our flower crafts where you can choose to use fresh flowers although the results will only last a couple of days. But my kids loved gathering flowers and unique plants from around the yard. (Look for a variety of textures to make it interesting). Weaving the material is also great fine motor practice! Make a simple loom with cardboard and string or make a stick frame like we did here. If you want your weaving to last a little longer, here are some ideas for plants that will still look nice when they dry.

7. Pressed Flower Lamp

A while back I bought some white lamps for our house, but they just looked too plain. Then I found this gorgeous idea to dress them up a bit! Adding pressed flowers is the perfect thing, and they would look so sweet in a little girl’s room. I haven’t made my own. yet, but it’s on my (very long) to-do list.

8. Strawflower Garland

Strawflowers are great for flower crafts because once they’re dried, they’ll last indefinitely and look the same as they did when they were fresh! I strung some onto a garland to use as decor at a birthday party for my little girl (who happens to be named Flora). See how I did it here!

9. Floral Fire Starters

These fire starters are super practical and fun to make! They’re also great gifts. Another fun thing is that you basically use anything from nature that’s dried out, including dried flowers and/or petals. See how to make these here

10. Nature Rainbow

This is one of the flower crafts that we do on repeat because my kids love it so much! Grab the free printable here or just use your own blank paper. Grab some double sided tape, then head out for a nature walk, try to find all the colors, and press them into the tape to make a rainbow!

11. Floral Fairy Wings

These have been one of my favorite flower crafts that we ever made! They turned out so gorgeous and last indefinitely. The wings look super cute paired with a flower crown and would be fun for fairy parties, Halloween, photoshoots, birthdays, and every day make believe play. Here’s how we did it.

12. Flower Nature Bracelets

If your kids are anything like mine, they’re constantly picking flowers on walks or out in the backyard. These simple flower bracelets are perfect for providing a purpose for all those flowers! Cut a simple wristband from paper or cardstock and cover it with a layer of double-sided tape. Then tape it closed around their wrist and head outside. Any time they pick something, they can stick it to their bracelet and it will soon become a work of art!

13. Pounded Flower Art

This is one of the flower crafts that boys (or any kid who likes pounding things) might get excited about! Watch this video for some tips!

14. Flower Petal Confetti Poppers

Make your own simple DIY confetti poppers with a toilet paper roll and a balloon, then fill it with flower petals (dried or fresh) for the perfect eco-friendly party accessory!

15. Dandelion Threading Board

These threading boards are one of the best flower crafts for toddlers and younger kids to practice fine motor skills, plus it’s a great sensory activity! Cut out a piece of cardboard to any fun shape, then poke holes into it. Take it outside and have your kids start threading! For more details, check out this blog post.
